On July 9th, 2025 we crowned our latest Toastmaster of the Year – Mairia Te Are.
In the last year Mairia has been a diligent member of our club, our executive committee and the district.
As a diligent member, in this year she completed 2 Levels in her Presentation Mastery Path. She encouraged our members to step out of their comfort zone to speak with a microphone at our Unplugged Meeting where the whole meeting was presented via a microphone. We had so much fun and we all learned a new skill. Whichever role Mairia undertakes, she does it with grace, a sense of fun and with dedication.
As a diligent member of our executive committee she served as our Vice President Public Relations for 2 terms and upgraded our Facebook page, promoted our club on other social media platforms as well as representing our club in the community.
At the Area, Division and District levels, Mairia served as a Contest Chair at Area and Division levels as well as a contest official for the District Finals at the Conference. She has represented our club at many District functions. She has quickly become a “go to member” to be called on to represent our club at Area, Division and District level.
We are proud to have voted Mairia as our Toastmaster of the Year 2024-2025. She truly is a worthy recipient and joins an esteemed group of individuals.
Mairia, from all of your fellow members, we congratulate you on a wonderful year in Toastmasters and wish you amazing success as our newly elected Vice President Education. We know you will shine in this role too.
