Last Wednesday we held our Humorous Speech Contest. We were chuckling, chortling and cackling all night as we were regaled with 5 humorous speeches in our amazing Humorous Speech Contest. Piumi opened the meting with her first Inspiration where we learned about her incredible Mother who showed joy, courage & strength as she built her online fashion business. Vijaya was our superb Contest Chair, Christine kept the judging fair as our Chief Judge, Mairia & Luisa kept time for the contestants and Ignatius & Nisal counted the votes to determine a winner. Thank you to all our contest officials. A Contest can’t happen with out you.
Our speeches were spectacular! Raj had us snickering about being held up “When the Lights Go Out”, Sam had us tittering at her tales of her “Embarrassing Moments”, Nicole had us sniggering about “Charles” the dumb but in a smart way, dog, Moosa almost caught his wife off guard when he found out “What a Tube of Toothpaste Taught Me” in the operating theatre and Akhil had us cracking up with his story of arriving in “Australia – Not What the Brochures Showed Me”. Of course there were no kangaroos hopping down the street? 🙂
We were then entertained by Aaisha’s first set of Table Topics before the results were announced. Should we shower in the morning or night? Does pineapple belong on a pizza? Should you wake up early or sleep in? Cereal or milk in the bowl first? A fun set of questions to keep the giggles going.
And then the drum rolls happened as we announced our winners. In third place – Sam Craig. In Second Place – Moosa Kutty.
And the Winner is – Akhil Chandran.
Akhil now progresses on to the Area Final to represent our club against the 4 other clubs in Area S31. We’re all wishing you good luck Akhil. We know you will so us proud.
