We Triumph at D17 Awards Night

District 17 Celebrated it’s first year as a President’s Distinguished District in 10 years on August 29th at the Ibis Hotel in Perth, and our club members turned out in style to celebrate the night. It was a glittering celebration of personal and club achievements. There was recognition, awards and fabulous food throughout the night.

District Director, Jeff Zhang, celebrates achieving President’s Distinguished District for the first time in 10 years!
It was a glittering night and we dressed up for it!

2024-2025 Club President, Cassie Walraven, accepted a certificate on behalf of the club for achieving President’s Distinguished Club status for 2024–2025. To achieve this, our club must meet all goals in the Distinguished Club Program and maintain a membership of at least 20 members. We smashed it and achieved even higher than the minimum requirements.

Our club was proudly named Club of the Year in Southern Division, a testament to the dedication and excellence of our members. This is awarded by the Southern Division Director and is chosen from the 22 clubs in Southern Division.

A special shout-out to Mairia, Christine and Frank who earned their ***Triple Crown Pin***, for completing three educational levels in a single year. Congratulations all! I’m sure we will have more of those this year.

Adding to the celebration, Robyn Richards was honoured as District 17 Toastmaster of the Year, recognizing her outstanding contributions to the Toastmasters community. District 17 encompasses the whole of Western Australia. Congratulations Robyn for this outstanding award.

Further congratulations go to Sam Craig, as Southern Division Director and Cassie Walraven as Area S31 Director. Sam and Cassie served with distinction in these higher-level roles within District 17.
